Some of you with an eagle eye may have spotted the rather large (or rotund) secret that I’ve been harboring. I’m so excited to share the news that I’m 27 weeks pregnant, but for those of you who follow my baby nursery ideas Pinterest board – this is old news! At this point I’ve almost got my head around the idea that I’ve got a baby on board and that it will soon live with me and Mr FL come summer. Life as I know it will undoubtedly change forever. In a good way of course! Having a baby is a momentous decision and I think that I’m still getting used to the idea of being responsible for another human being – forever. But then, you take one look at those tiny yellow rain boots and your heart melts. Right there.
Still, anyone who has ever been pregnant will know what an onslaught of crazy emotions growing a little baby can bring. The emotional roller coaster can leave a mama to be a trifle tired, and most recently my other baby (aka. the blog) has taken the brunt of it – which you may also have noticed! As maternity leave draws closer though, I intend to dedicate more time to blogging. Sure, there may be a baby related post here and there, and the obligatory bump update for you also, but other than that I’ll be bringing you beautiful beauty as usual. I literally can’t believe how quickly time has flown and as someone who always looked at others and thought pregnancy seems to last an age, for me it now feels as if it flies by. Seriously, there’s so much to do… and so little time…
Let’s see how baby is at week 27
What’s baby up to?
Baby’s inhaling and exhaling with his or her rapidly developing lungs, but it’s amniotic fluid not air! Baby is now showing brain activity and the brain will keep on getting more complex. Baby continues to get less wrinkly as it puts on more and more healthy fat.
Is it a boy or a girl?
I don’t know! I love a surprise and for me, having a baby without finding out the gender is the ultimate surprise anyone could wish for – but if I had to guess, I would say it’s a girl.
Any symptoms this week?
I’ve been really lucky and haven’t had any morning sickness or other horrible symptoms, but my back hurts a lot and has done since the beginning. I’m looking forward to a pregnancy massage though to help combat the aches and pains.
Do you miss anything?
I definitely miss going to the pub and having a glass of wine! Until little one is out I’ve got a few mocktail recipes to keep me going.
Any products you love?
So far I’ve been loving the following products to help with stretch marks, and yes I’ve been using several. My theory is that 9 months isn’t long enough to try and test just one product (what if it doesn’t work?!) So I’m working on a more is more principal! Whilst they say that stretch marks are hereditary, to me it makes sense that the more soft, supple and elasticated your skin is, the easier it will stretch. Be sure to patch test the creams though, as you can develop sensitive skin during pregnancy. PS. The Mama Mio Boob Tube cream is just heavenly.
