Following my trip to Japan I became ‘healthily’ addicted to eyelash extensions. You see – it’s all the rage over there and the girls rock gorgeous blue (literally fluttering lashes) as if they were unicorns. It was enough for me to return to England a hardcore blue lash-extension fan and I stayed that way for the best part of 6 months. Fast forward and what do you know – this girl has gone and developed some kind of allergy to the lash glue. After a little sobbing and stomping of feet, I decided to reluctantly venture back on into the world of mascara and bid a fond farewell to my gorgeous lash extensions. So what’s a girl to do? Try out the hottest new mascara to hit the shelves of course and that title goes to the new Benefit Roller Lash Mascara. With a killer wand that promises big, bold and beautifully curled lashes – I had to this gorgeous offering a whirl.
The first thing to point out is that in true Benefit style, the packaging is beautifully and would look fab in any make-up bag or on any dressing table. I bagged mine at the airport so I actually got a full-size mascara, as well as a mini version which is great for touch-ups on the go. Thanks to the Hook ‘n’ Roll brush lashes are picked up, curled and coated in a glossy ink black mascara, in one sweep. It’s supposed to last for 12 hours and it does stay on all day, but I wouldn’t say that it leaves them incredibly curled and lifted for that amount of time. The resutls aren’t ‘wow’ – so for maximum impact, I also like to curl my lashes before using this – a step that you’re supposed to be able to ditch with this mascara.
The Benefit Roller Lash Mascara packed with serin and provitamin B5, which are both ingredients known for their lash-conditioning benefits. As a former eyelash extension addict – no mascara will ever compare, but this is a nice offering that gives very pretty results. I have also heard that if you combine the Benefit Roller Lash Mascara with Benefit’s ‘They’re Real’ mascara, the results are killer. I’m willing to give it a go.
