I feel like I’m probably one of the last to test out the infamous, albeit scary looking sheet masks. But testing I am, and I’ve now proudly entered the weird world where beauty and horror meet. You can’t rock one of these and not freak out all those you live with, including some very suspicious and wary Chihuahuas. My little pups didn’t know whether to run from me or try and save me by licking this off my face ( they tried!)
I bought myself the new Skin Renew Dark Spot Treatment Mask from Garnier to test out, and at $16.99 for a box containing 6 masks, I wouldn’t exactly call it budget but neither is it high end – although if you did use these the recommended 3 times per week, they would end up costing you a pretty penny!
Designed to instantly hydrate your skin, whilst boosting radiance and revitalizing your overall appearance, the half a bottle of hydrating serum in each mask is very apparent. These are basically dripping wet when you remove them from the packaging and seriously icy cold. I’m not quite sure how they manage that, but they are incredibly cooling on your skin. I made the husband try one and he hated the freezing sensation, so it’s not for everyone but I quite enjoyed it, and can imagine this would feel quite heavenly after a day sunbathing!
Apparently dark spots and dullness are some of the most difficult skin problems to treat, and this mask aims to address those issues. The Vitamin C that’s infused in the serum in the tissue mask, is supposed to instantly brighten your skin while also making your skin lovely and soft.
Comfortable to wear, I probably had this on for longer than 10 minutes, and when I removed it I massaged the excess serum in to my skin as directed – leaving my skin cool and super soft! I loved that the mask also fits around your eye area where I get very dehydrated skin that gives me fine lines. I think this is probably one of the only masks that you can do this with, and it didn’t cause me any irritation. I would reach for this before an event when I want my make-up to look flawless as let’s face it, great make-up starts with great skin.
Totally worth freaking out all your roomies with…. I really like theses masks for an instant shot of hydration and the fun factor of looking super weird!
