There has been a lot of beauty blogger buzz about this mask that I’m about to share my thoughts on, and I must confess I haven’t dabbled in the world of masks for a while. I know, shocking right!? I do LOVE skin care, but I guess sometimes we can all be a little bit lazy, and stick to the products we know and love.
When the REN Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask kept popping up in every beauty bloggers must have list of products, I knew this was worth a try. Luckily I also got a little ‘try before you buy’ sample from the lovely ladies at Space NK.
The texture of this mask is that of a thick serum, with a slightly orange tinge. When I put this on, it did start to feel tingly, which always makes me think a product is doing something! After all, this mask is packed with fruit acids such as passion fruit, lemon, grape and pineapple as well as papain, derived from papaya which exfoliates the outer layer of the skin, encouraging cell renewal.
You leave this on for ten minutes and remove with a muslin cloth. It leaves your skin beautifully clean, and glowing. Mine was also a little bit red as I do have slightly sensitive skin, but this soon went down. The most amazing thing for me though, is that the mask completely got rid of the flaky skin on my nose and chin. This was a small miracle for me, as no product has EVER managed that before, and I have tried everything! I didn’t even realise the mask was supposed to do that, but when I looked into it, it does promise to remove dead skins cells, leaving the skin brighter, healthier, whilst reducing fine lines, blackheads and blemishes.
The real test was the foundation test. For me, even when I think I have my dry skin in check, I put on
foundation and all of a sudden my skin, somehow creates new dry skin for the foundation to stick to. Lovely picture I’ve painted huh!:) Well I’m very pleased to say this didn’t happen after using this mask – my skin looked glowing, and flake free.
I will definitely be buying this, and although its a little pricey at £30, I think it is totally worth it. If you can get your hands on a sample I recommended trying it first. I personally can’t wait to get my hands on more REN products. A new fan is born.
