If you’re anything like me, you’re still nibbling on Easter eggs and we all know that’s not great for the upcoming bikini season. Why is it that Easter chocolate seems to be so much more delicious than other chocolate out there?! Why?! Fret not, I have a plan that won’t leave you with chocolate withdrawal. Enter the seriously good, healthy chocolate milkshake.
I know what you’re thinking… nothing that’s ‘healthy’ can be seriously good. Well, I think you’ll find that the recent wave of all-star super glam health bloggers changed the rules there. Gone are the days when kale was some weird food that only people in tie die (and rabbits) would eat. Now eating clean is totally hip, but that doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice on delicious treats. I for one have an insatiable sweet tooth that could really get me in trouble (I’m looking at you Smarties egg). Yes, I am like a wayward toddler who would always choose ice cream for dinner if they could. So, I had to take the reins and try out a few recipes that had maximum flavour, catered to my inner cookie monster, yet also had some health benefits. Impossible I hear you cry! You’ve got to try this utterly decadent recipe to believe it.
How to make this delicious chocolate shake…
3 Medjool dates
250ml almond milk or filtered water
1 tablespoon of Cacao – add less for a lighter chocolate experience
Cacao nibs for garnishing (optional)
1 tablespoon of almond butter
Put all the ingredients in a blender and whizz it all up! Simples.
