We’ve all had those mornings when your eyes give you away. Whether it’s late nights having too much fun, waking up with a little one, or simply not feeling as awake as you’d like to… it’s all in the eyes. Luckily we can reach to the make-up stash, which will always come to the rescue and hide a multitude of sins! I’ve created this little video to show you exactly how you can create bigger, brighter eyes, simply by following a few simple make-up tricks.
How To: Create Bigger, Brighter Eyes…..
The brows really do help to create a youthful, more rested look. Never underestimate the power of a full brow. I always used to, but since discovering Anastasia brows and Instagram for that matter, I’m all about that brow! Create a bigger, bolder brow and fill in any gaps – don’t be afraid to make your existing shape fuller and bigger. I pretty much use Anastasia brow products exclusively for my eyebrows – she is the Queen of the brows after all!
2. Highlight the brow bone and inner corners of the eye
Highlighting the brow bone will lift your entire brow area and make you look more awake. The eye is naturally drawn to areas of light, so if you apply an illuminating product under the brow and in the inner corners of the eyes, it will create an instant lift. A little illumination in the inner corner of the eye helps to distract from any bags and dark circles under the eye.
3. Go with a light eyeshadow
Apply a light eyeshadow at the edges of the moveable eyelid. This will create the illusion that your eyes appear fresh and that you’re more awake. Avoid dark colours which will make your eyes look smaller.
4. Curl your lashes
This simple, easy step will help to open up your eyes, making your favourite mascara work harder for you.
5. Apply white eyeliner
Line your waterline with a white or flesh-toned eyeliner to add a little sparkle to your eyes and cancel out any redness from all those late nights. This simple trick will really help to make your eyes look brighter and bigger.
6. Think definition!
If you want a little extra omph apply a little eyeliner directly under your eyelashes to really make the white liner stand out, helping your eyes to look bigger.
7. Illuminate under the eye
Make-up is all about the art of distraction! Go easy on the concealer and use an illuminating product under the eye area instead. This will avoid the eye area looking to ‘cakey.’ Instead the eye will be drawn to the light and away from dark circles.
