Ever since I moved to America I became increasingly aware of what I eat and how to lead a healthier lifestyle. I stalk health food bloggers on the regular (their Instagrams look delish – especially on Sundays’) and I love to learn about new ways to make life a little healthier. At one of my favourite restaurants in Tampa I used to always order a Matcha Green Tea Lemonade, that promised to be like drinking 50 cups of green tea – or something like that! It was designed to speed up your metabolism and be extremely good for you, plus it tasted great, so of course I was on board. Ain’t no one got time to drink 50 cups of green tea!
So when I was sent the Kiss Me Organics: Culinary Grade Organic Matcha – Green Tea Powder, I was all over it. This pack of goodness is 100% organic, tested for purity, and contains up to 137x the antioxidants found in a cup of brewed tea. Matcha is in powder form as it contains the entire green tea leaf so it provides a ridiculous amount of antioxidants, while also helping to keep energy levels up and keep you focused. I can certainly vouch for that as I add a teaspoon of this greenylicious powder to my smoothies each morning – I stay energised and fulfilled until lunch. It’s also incredibly versatile, so you can put this in your lattes, cookies and more! After all, healthy eating is all about balance, so you know we’ve still got to enjoy a cupcake or two. I make my green smoothies with the following:
1 handful of spinach
1 handful of blueberries
Half an avocado
1 celery stick
Coconut water ( more or less to taste)
1 Teaspoon of green tea Matcha
* Blend everything in a Ninja / Blender and enjoy!
