Long Haul Beauty

Beauty enthusiasts will agree; recycled air for 8hrs, is not ideal for the beauty routine, and combine that with an already dehydrated skin type…. you’re looking at something that ain’t pretty. With this in mind I went a little moisture mad on my long haul flight to London, as I packed quite an array of beauty treats to keep me occupied and hydrated for the flight.

In my little beauty goodie bag, I packed some Sephora Express cleansing wipes which are compact enough to fit in a small carry on, and work well at removing all my make-up, to let the in flight facial begin. Once the make-up is off, the moisture goes on.

Whilst I love the idea of using the Origins Drink Up face mask in flight, I’m a bit wary of frightening my on plane neighbor with my crazy shiny face. I already look so good sporting my geek chic glasses! Still… if I feel brave enough, I’ve decanted a little amount in to a small pot for a full on dose of moisture. DSC02650

Next up is a little sample size of the Origins Make a Difference+ Rejuvenating Cream to prevent the dreaded, dry, flaky face on arrival. Face done, it’s time for some L’Occitane hand cream, and a hefty dose of Carmex lip balm. Once I’m fully hydrated and all my fellow passengers hate me for hogging the loo for so long, I return to my seat and slather on the best anti-bacterial gel out there; the warm vanilla sugar pocket bac from Bath & Body Works.

After 4 or so movies, *I don’t sleep on planes* much to everyone’s delight, it’s time to freshen up for landing. Now is the time to try and make yourself look like you haven’t been on a plane for 8hrs. So, out comes the deodorant, and a spritz or two of a mini perfume, my current mini favorite is the BCBG from the September Birchbox. I’ve also got a perfume wipe from Nomaterra that I’ve been saving for travel.

Next I like to add a little make-up just to make myself look and feel more awake. I’m still loving the Marcelle BB cream, which is mini and perfect for traveling, combined with a slick of Benefit Sugar Bomb lip gloss, and a coating of Maybelline Rocket Volum’Express Mascara. Once the locks are tamed into place with my tangle teezer, and it looks like I won’t terrify the lovely people at customs I’m ready to face the world.
