Today I thought I would share a little hair story with you. As previously mentioned in my last post I seriously struggle with my locks. Having bought a Brazilian blow-dry on Groupon I managed to tame my wild hair for a couple of months but alas, now it has all washed out, and I’m back to my lovely un-managable mess of wild fluff hair. During my Brazilian blow-dry love affair I only used Keratin shamppo and conditioner, but now I’m pretty sure it’s all washed out, its pretty pricey and not worth it if all the Keratin has already gone from your hair.
So I’m now loving Lush shampoo and conditioner. I have tried it before and often thought that it didn’t make my hair very soft. This time I tried Rehab shampoo and American Cream conditioner, which both smell amazing. The Rehab has a clean zesty smell, and is packed with papaya and olive oil to cleanse the scalp while putting in moisture. It really does make you feel like your hair is super clean, but sadly it doesn’t give your hair that ‘soft’ feeling. I have since found out that ‘soft’ feeling is the ‘plastics’ some brands put in their shampoos to coat your hair making it temporarily feel soft but in the long run making it weaker and more likely to break.
Next comes the conditioner. American Cream literally smells so beautiful, and the gorgeous scent lasts all day so you can get that ‘umm’ waft wherever you go! Lush claims that the strawberry milkshake smell will ‘bring all the boys to the yard.’ I think this could very well be true! The thick lanolin conditioner base is great for dry hair, making it manageable and easy to comb – perfect. Also when I did actually dry my hair the final result was very soft silky hair that smells great – and if that wasn’t enough Lush is an ethical company that doesn’t test on animals, so you can feel great whilst you lather your locks, with all the boys banging down your door.
Whats not to love!
