A little while back I put on my walking shoes, loaded up on the electrolytes and headed out to the make-up show – a day of walking around a huge room packed to the rafters with make-up. I’d been training for this for months and yes, it was beautiful. What with moving countries, it’s taken me a while to share all the goodness of this fun (glitter filled day! ) Still, here it is and boy was it good! The Makeup Show is an event for pro’s in the make-up and beauty world and takes place across America and in Europe.
As a beauty blogger I was invited to the show’s blogger preview, but sadly I was working so I couldn’t make it.*sob.* I rocked up the next day and was assured by beauty blogger friends that the bags packed full of freebies chosen by James Vincent really weren’t that great. Somehow I don’t quite believe them! I did get a few goodies though and the show itself featured make-up with huge discounts so my card was pretty hot that day. Makeup show regulars advised to set a budget, but seeing as I’d never been before I wasn’t quite sure what to expect.
What I discovered was some amazing make-up. From new up and coming brands to the famous make-up magnates like Nars and Make-Up Forever, it was a mecca for make-up shopping and I definitely found myself swoon when I laid my eyes upon an entire table of Beauty Blenders. Some other stand out brands for me were Ofra and Cara – but there will be more on those in future posts. Besides from shopping there were masterclasses and competitions. My favourite was the presentation by celebrity make-up artist Renny Vasquez. Such an incredibly inspiring, talented person that has the most remarkable story. All in all, this was a great show where I bagged plenty of beauty swag! Bliss.
