I’ve had quite a love affair with Revlon lip crayons for some time now. There’s always at least one that’s made my handbag home. So, obviously it would have been rude not to pick up the new offerings from Revlon – the ColorBurst Matte Balm crayons are packed full of vibrant color but still as incredibly easy to use as their predecessor. Pop ’em in your bag and go!
In the name of self restraint, I only bought one of these babies – the shade 210 Unapologetic. I picked this one as it reminded me of a lovely punchy strawberry color I’ve been on the hunt for. An incredibly bold but fun hue, this would look lovely with a tan, and incredible with darker skin tones. It’s very bright so tone down the rest of your make-up when you wear this!
The ColorBurst collection are highly pigmented and much more matte in finish than their other lip crayons, but they don’t dry the lips. Although the ‘matte’ name may suggest they will be quite drying, they’re actually very silky and moisturizing! That’s thanks to the triple shea butter complex, coconut and mango butters. This does feel very nourishing on the lips, but beware it will show up dry flakes, so make sure you exfoliate your lips and moisturize well before applying! There are 10 colors to choose from, so if ‘bright’ isn’t your thing there are other shades that are more subtle!
As always these lip crayons are perfect for ‘on the go‘ touch ups. If you don’t have time to apply full make-up, a wash of something bright works wonders.
