I’ve been on the hunt for what I call a ‘candy apple’ green. I have no idea why I call it that. The shade in my head looks nothing like a candy apple – actually I have no idea what that would look like, but I knew as soon as I saw the shade that I’ve scoured the aisle’s of the drug store’s for – I would know. Then, one day there it was. Unexpected. Glimmering at me, winking even and whispering.. buy me, buy me… and it was done!
I full on heart this colour. It is totally amaze balls! Sorry I can’t come up with something more poetic, but there it is. An incredibly stunning turquoise green from Revlon’s new Nail Art Sun Candy range, and the shade I bought is Sun Shower – 490. Now, the deal with these nail polishes, is that one side is the solid colour, and the other the ‘nail art’ – normally a glittery polish. The glittery part is never that amazing, but it comes with the polish, so hey ho! I guess you don’t really have to use it. With this though I did use it on both the ring finger, the thumb and my index finger. The top coats are called the ‘sugary top coats’ designed to provide a dazzling solar effect. I actually did like the glittery finish and how sparkly it looked on my digits, and honestly these pictures don’t quite do this beautiful shade justice.
The only thing I don’t like about these nail polishes’ is that when you paint your nails with one end of the polish, you can’t leave this standing up – as you would a normal nail polish, as it will literally topple over and potentially spill every where! Oh dear. So, you pretty much have to close the lid and lay it flat in between coats. While the packaging is not ideal – I still love this shade! Oh so dreamy!!
