The Luxe Powder

The Luxe Powder

Every girl should own something from Chanel. Whilst I’m not talking about forking over half a year’s salary for a handbag, a dabble into the beauty range will give you the buzz of owning a luxury item, without the luxury price tag. Okay, so it will cost you more than your drugstore make-up kick- but sometimes luxury is totally worth it!

If you haven’t seen the movie Coco before Chanel – I thoroughly  recommend it – what an inspiring lady! So whilst Coco may never have intended to create make-up, her legacy and the products’ she leaves behind are amazing! My currently love affair with Chanel started with the purchase of Chanel Les Beiges powder. While I never thought I would purchase a pricey powder (frankly that’s just a bit boring) I now see that spending a little more on certain items,  delivers on the quality front! And when your skin looks good, your make-up will look good…

One sweep of this sheer, finely milled powder, all over your skin will instantly blur imperfections and give the appearance of a healthy glow to your skin. It won’t make your skin matte however, so if you’re looking for a powder to reduce shine – this isn’t it.

Chanel Les Beiges contains SPF 15 which is an added bonus, and to me it almost acts like an Instagram filter for your face – making everything look that much better! My skin isn’t good enough to wear this alone – but if yours is then I’m very jealous! I like using this over my Chanel foundation ( post to follow!)

Like a good handbag, this isn’t your everyday ‘go-to’ powder. This one is reserved for those times when you want to spend a little longer getting ready, perfecting your make-up, so that you feel amazing. A date night powder if you will. The little black dress of powders’ – not right for every occasion but on the right occasion it will look gosh darn gorgeous! Oh well Chanel – you got me hooked!

I agree you should spend more on a great product. My mom used to spend $30 for a lipstick but she loved the shade and then even they stopped making it.

Chanel makeup always reminds me of my mom. It’s a brand she has used and loved her entire life. 🙂

  • feels good to spoil yourself on makeup!
