The Review: Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain

There is something innately jovial, about using a giant crayon to color in your lips. For us beauty junkies, I’m thinking your love of color started early. Was I the only one to get red paint, or even felt tips and create a gorgeous bright lip? Perhaps.

Now I’m not saying you should go and pinch your little relatives crayons, as Revlon has given us a much more glamorous alternative, that will make you want to have a jollification. Sorry, I really wanted to use that word!

Let’s get real – the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain does share a striking resemblance to the more pricey chubby sticks, and I’ll be honest, I’ve haven’t tried them *gasp!* The reason being…. I had my heart set on the limited edition mini range so I could have multiple colors, and sadly Selfridges were all sold out, but that’s another story. Bottom line is, chubby sticks are $16 a pop, and the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains are a thrifty $7. You can literally buy two Revlon’s for the price of one chubby stick, and well more is more people!

Whilst I didn’t want this post to be a direct comparison, as I haven’t got any chubby sticks, so Revlon has an unfair advantage, but the Just Bitten Balms are amazing. They are highly pigmented, very moisturizing, true to their ‘stain’ proclamations – don’t be too heavy handed if you don’t like a lot of color as these will stick firm to your lips. Whilst the colors are strong, they are also sheer, providing your lips with a deeply stained effect. They also have a nice minty scent, and come in a great variety of colors. I can see these being my summer staple product, a gals beach beauty must have if you like.

Now put down those felt tip pens, and go buy yourself a proper crayon.
