The War on the Cold

There is nothing less glamorous than the sniveling, sneezing, stuffy nosed symptoms of the common cold. I know, I have one right now and it is not pretty!

It’s funny because every year I always think I’ll take Echinacea for a couple of months and be fine all winter – but when the weather isn’t too cold… well it’s just easy to forget. Then as crazy as British weather is, a cold snap can literally happen over night, catch you completely off guard… and bam you are a sniffling mess on your sofa.

So… I don’t have a cure, but have a juicy recipe from Jason Vale’s ‘The Juice Master’ that can certainly help.

What you need:

1 Orange ( peeled but leave the pith on)

1/4 Pineapple

1 inch of Lemon (with skin on if unwaxed)

1 teaspoon of Manuka active honey

4 ice cubes

What to do:Juice the pineapple, orange and lemon. Transfer your juice in to a blender, add the ice and honey, and blend until smooth.

How does it work?!: Vitamin C is packed into this juice, and it acts like a natural antibiotic, which will also help to dissolve mucus. Manuka honey is one of those genius products that has antibacterial properties as well as the amazing anti-cancer king -beta carotene. There are also tons of anti-oxidants in this juice which will help to build your natural defenses.
