Toni and Guy Shampoo

Have you heard the story about my hair? No? Well grab a comfy reading spot and snacks, and I’ll explain all. I know you can’t wait. I’ve had a little bit of a hair issue since being in Florida. I know, you’re probably thinking humidity – my arch nemesis – and you would normally be right, but it’s a little chilly right now, and humidity hasn’t set in yet. I’m looking forward to that delight in Summer.

So, being from London where the water is hard, meaning the water has a lot of calcium, magnesium and other metals in it, shampoo here in Florida simply didn’t work for me. I constantly felt like I couldn’t get my hair clean, and that products wouldn’t wash out. I tried using less shampoo, and only putting conditioner on the ends *gasp* but nothing worked. I then realized that it was the soft water here that was the problem. The water factor is rather strange as soft water is supposed to be more compatible with soap. Weird.

I guess my hair kinda like those metals, and considered magnesium and calcium great friends.

Anyway, what’s a girl to do. My hairdresser explained that like skin changes in varying climates, your hair goes through a transition period too, and that the water can effect the way that products work. Or don’t in my case.

Thankfully there is a happy ending to this story, and that came in the form of the wonderful Toni and Guy Bed Head Shampoo called Urban Anti-dotes Re-energize. It smells fruity and incredible, and most of all actually cleans my hair. Score.

Also it’s on sale, so it’s officially my hero and has a permanent place in my bathroom. I bought the Shampoo and Conditioner for $22 at Toni and Guy salons.

Has anyone else had any water related Shampoo issues?!
