The coach of the Polish national team lost midfielder Maciej Repos, who signed a contract with Spartak Moscow after the start of the war. The footballer was excluded from the team’s bid to host the 2022 World Cup.
Ceslav Meknevich He explained to the Polish media why he was doing this.
“It was entirely my decision. I called Maciej and explained everything. Repos was understanding. He knows what he’s going on and is in constant contact with his teammates.
Maciej understood my decision and told me, “I know what would happen if I was called up. Our team needs a calm atmosphere and I understand that very well.”
You can look at it from both sides. The first, of course, is Russia, war, dirty money and so on. On the other hand, Repos’ wife is Russian and said she did not want to come to Poland. ”
