Today, June 14, the Ukrainian national team played the third match of the League of Nations with Ireland. We played an online match between Ukraine and Ireland on our website.
The Petrakov winger played the fifth official match in two weeks, and this could not but affect the match of the Ukrainians.
Vorskla goalkeeper Dmytro Reznik appeared in the starting line-up for the Ukrainian national team for the first time. It was the first match for one of the best UPL goalkeepers.
In the first half, the “blue bile” was not like her. Ruslan Malinovsky was injured in the 26th minute of the match. Mykhailo Mudryk came in the place of the Atalanta midfielder.
The Irish were more active than the hosts. In the 31st minute, Nathan Collins stormed the Ukrainian penalty area and scored accurately against Reznik. 0:1 – no one expected such a development.
During the break, Alexander Petrokov found the right words for his elements. At the start of the second half, Andriy Yarmolenko showed individual skill and gave a candy pass to Artem Dovbyk. The Dnipro-1 striker only had to put his foot down – 1: 1.
Despite the entire advantage of controlling the ball, “Yellow-Blue” did not create sufficiently dangerous moments. The attack of the Benfica striker, Yarmchuk, who missed the match due to injury, was clearly not enough.
The final minutes of the match were a swing. Both teams had a chance to snatch victory, but the goalkeepers played flawlessly.
The match ended in a 1:1 draw. Ukraine lost two points to the Irish, but retained the lead in Group B1.
